In the pitch for U Mobile’s media planning and buying business which began in November 2008, unconfirmed reports suggest Mediaedge:cia has emerged the winner. It is believed the Korean and Japanese principals in U Mobile Sdn Bhd, which carries the brand name for the telco service, had probably gone back to their respective head offices for endorsement of their selection, given the long turnaround of four months for the decision. Celcom was the top telco advertiser last year, followed by DiGi, Maxis, TM and U Mobile who spent in excess RM27 million.
