Those rumors about Google's Facebook-rivaling social network just got a whole lot more interesting. A former Facebook exec has been quizzing contacts inside Google and discovered that it's all real, with large numbers of Google staff busy on task.
The leak comes from Adam D'Angelo, cofounder of Quora (a cloud-sourced community question-answer forum), and it's interesting as he was formerly chief technology officer at Facebook.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 — Malaysia’s relatively high population growth rate will see the country remain comparatively young over the next two decades but economic growth is not expected to keep pace with population expansion, according to a report by Bank of America Merril Lynch.

PETALING JAYA: The late film director Yasmin Ahmad’s TV commercial Funeral has received two Gold Lion awards at the 57th International Advertising Festival in Cannes, France.
Leo-Burnett Worldwide, of which Yasmin was the executive creative director in its Kuala Lumpur office, received the awards on her behalf last Saturday.
The commercial was commissioned by Singapore’s Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports to aid in its 2008 “Family” campaign.
It was meant to encourage Singaporeans to start families and have children as the island republic faces an increasing ageing population.
Leo Burnett/Arc Worldwide Singapore & Malaysia CEO Tan Kien Eng credited the Malaysian film-maker for the win in the Copywriting and Film Direction categories.

A check-in with declared iAd advertisers found that many are still in the early stages of flushing out concepts and creative. Some are weeks -- perhaps months -- away from having an iAd in the system.

GroupM is the world’s largest media billing network. Owned by Sir Martin Sorrell's WPP Group, it handles media spend for clients including Unilever, HSBC, Orange, Ford, BT. Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline and Dell.
According to the company’s well-regarded 'This Year, Next Year' report, media spend for this year will now reach $451bn (£302bn), with a further hike of 4.5% worldwide during 2011 to $471bn (£315bn).

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- A nutrition watchdog group is threatening to sue McDonald's if the fast-food giant won't stop using toys to to lure children to its Happy Meals .
The Center for Science in the Public Interest said Tuesday that it has served McDonald's notice of its intent to sue over what it says is unfair and deceptive marketing.
