Mercedes-Benz partners with Next Digital to launch Alive: MY

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has teamed up with Next Digital Kuala Lumpur to launch Alive: MY - an urban culture project targeting the young and urban Malaysian.
The year long project launched with an 8-minute documentary highlighting a vastly different take to Kuala Lumpur and its environs. From pop up stores to cool cafes, to late night bicycle rides to a group of well dressed Vespa enthusiasts. The documentary has gotten more than 75,000 views within the first few days of being published on YouTube.
The purpose of this project is to bring to the surface the rich urban culture within Malaysian cities, and to give the local talent and opportunity to showcase their work and collaborate with like minded individuals. KL's The hub of the project is the Alive: MY portal (www.alive-my.com) that hosts the portfolio, cool huntings, latest creations and collaboration opportunities from project members. The portal is open to all Malaysians and users just need to connect via Facebook to be able to start posting up content and finding other like minded people.
"Malaysia has cities that have all the makings of vibrant metropolitans. But more often than not, being in the right circles is necessary to know about that new, quaint cafe or that awesome art and music mash-up gig happening this weekend. We wanted to capture this emerging creative culture and find a way to promote these incredibly talented young people", comments Kai Schlickum, VP Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.

The project was devised by Next Digital Kuala Lumpur and working with talented anonymous directors KIX produced the 8 minute documentary.
"In KL, there is a cultural revolution that is happening just beneath the surface. We see it bubble up here and there, and it has always amazed us on how talented Malaysians are. Alive: MY was our opportunity to work with like-minded creative talents and we've already seen so many come and contribute to the portal even though we've just launched. I'm really excited to see where we are in a years time", quips Janet Teo, CEO Next Digital Kuala Lumpur.
