Floorstoppers recently teamed up with Sony Malaysia to launch their new handheld gaming console – the Sony PS Vita. In line with the revolutionary product, Floorstoppers was commissioned to create two 3D floor stickers for the launch at Malaysia premier shopping mall, Pavilion.

Strategically located at the main entrance, the marquee sticker measured in at a whopping 30 feet by 15 feet, making it the largest printed 3D floor sticker in Asia! Incorporating design elements from Sony’s successful game franchise “Uncharted” and using Floorstoppers patented 3D Vertical Illusion technology, the floor sticker was designed to create an interaction point between casual shoppers and the product. Mall patrons were actively involved in picture taking opportunities, at times waiting in queues five people deep.

“It was awesome! Words can’t describe it but when I first saw it, I thought it was cool as the effect was really outstanding. Besides that, it was satisfying to see positive response from mall goers when they took pictures with it. Some even uploaded the pictures onto social media sites and tagged us,” said Cyrus Ng (PlayStation PIC, Sony Malaysia), commenting on the immersive nature of the 3D Floors sticker.

Supporting the overall campaign, Floorstoppers also created a floor sticker that projected a 3D illusion of a PS Vita off the floor.  Measuring in at 8 feet by 10 feet and positioned closer to the event, the sticker acted as a directional teaser as ell as a photo interaction point while emphasizing the branding and USPs of the product.

“The event was about the official launch of PS Vita. That explains why a 3D giant PS Vita floor sticker was there, perfectly placed leading visitors to the event ground,” added Cyrus.

Despite being on the ground for only 5 days, the stickers live on in the annals of the internet in multiple Facebook and Twitter uploads, causing it to be one of Kuala Lumpur’s most trended topics on the weekend of the 12th to the 13th of May 2012.
