|Panel on The Future of Online Video at the 22nd Digital Wednesday|
|Thursday, 06 October 2011 16:42|
The 22nd Digital Wednesday was held yesterday, Oct. 5th at The Gallery, iACT College. Organized by Malaysian Digital Association (MDA), the event brought forth field experts to discuss the maturing of online video.
Hosted by Rene E. Menezes, president and organising chairman of MDA, the panellists of the show included Malaysia’s own Dennis Lee, founder and chief executive officer of Maaduu.com; Paul Moss, general manager of Platforms and Technology at Alt Media and Eric Tan, vice president of Business Development in APAC.
‘Premium software for premium videos’, said Eric Tan pithily when introducing Movideo to the audience. Movideo, online video player, was introduced to the public as a portal to benefit content owners and organisations that want to manage, administer and deliver their digital content more efficiently.
The presentation then gave way to the panel discussion on the future of online video. Unlike YouTube and other video streaming websites that offer short-form content, avenues that offer long-form professional content are legally emerging, and a number of them are beginning to take hold in the online habits of users across Malaysia. Other topics discussed were the concerns and involvement of brands in the surge of different online video portals.
The Malaysian Digital Association (MDA) was formed in December 2009 to unify and act as the watchdog for the digital advertising and marketing industry in Malaysia.
