Students of the Master of Integrated Marketing Communication programme, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) were recently given a fundamental session on Search Engine Marketing (SEM) by digital performance agency, iProspect Malaysia.

Justin Murugaya, General Manager of iProspect Malaysia enlightened the students with the width and depth of SEM through an interactive session centered on opportunities in utilizing search for branding, acquisitions, and PR. Close to 30 students, consisting of agency personnel, marketers and business owners attended the session.

“I’m glad to see search being acknowledged by educational institutions as an important part of marketing communications. We were humbled and pleased to be invited to share our knowledge with the faculty. We have no doubt that those who attended the session will now have another effective medium to utilize in their marketing book as it gets tougher for brands to break through the clutter in digital media”, said Justin.

“iProspect Malaysia was chosen to run this session by USM due to its vast experience in digital performance marketing, their passion and their reputation as global leaders. They have engaged the students by sharing with us some very interesting campaigns from diverse industries that have produced outstanding results”, said Dr. Hasrina Mustafa (Ph.D), Senior Lecturer of the USM School of Communication.

The IMC programme provides a platform in training students towards a professional career as a media specialist, senior marketing executive, public relations consultant, or corporate communication expert.
